Join GCU’s College of Fine Arts and Production for the annual Masterworks Concert featuring the Canyon Choral Society and Canyon Symphony Orchestra performing timeless musical pieces: Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and LUX: The Dawn From On High by Dan Forrest.
The evening will pay homage to the German composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who is revered for being the mastermind behind some of the greatest musical works in history. The concert concludes with LUX: The Dawn From On High by acclaimed composer Dan Forrest. His five-movement major work explores the various facets of light — from the promise of future light and hope of dawn, to the portrayal of light courageously shining in darkness and seeing the sun metaphorically as unconditional love that lights the whole sky.
Join us for a classical experience and celebration of preeminent musical pieces with a journey in time to enjoy Beethoven’s masterpieces from the early 1800s, and in the 21st century as we embrace Forrest’s 2018 LUX.
